Great New Things
Hey guys,
October was a big month of new and exciting experiences! I will be seen playing myself in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons that will air next year. I also had my Hannah Montana television series debut on the Oct 18th episode judging Hannah’s brother’s vocal abilities. Not so sure about him! It was great to see Miley at work and I love her new tune.
And on the more serious side, I was invited to perform in a songwriter’s round supporting the Country Hall of Fame alongside Emmy Lou Harris, Dwight Yoakam, Melissa Etheridge and Vince Gill. I cannot believe the great opportunities that present themselves these days.
I am super excited about the release of “Mama’s Song” on Carrie Underwood’s forthcoming album. I’m proud of the work we did together and hope that people are touched by the song’s sentiment.
Cobra Starship’s “Hot Mess” is hitting radio now, while my Warner Bros. Records signings, Jason Derulo (”Whatcha Say”) and Iyaz (”Replay”), are Top Ten at iTunes and crushing at radio. You can check them out at their respective myspace pages: www.myspace.com/jasonderulo and www.myspace.com/iyaz
Lastly, one of the things I love most about my life these days is the exposure to new and important organizations. I was invited to a dinner honoring Somaly Mam for her work helping rehabilitate young women who have been victims of human trafficking. She is a real-life hero and you should check out her efforts to combat this worldwide epidemic: www.somaly.org. I think you will be as moved as I was.
Till next time,
Kara xo

First I just wanna say how proud I am to be your fan with all you’ve been doing lately! I love reading about all you have going on since you have, in my opinion, the best life ever. I can’t wait to hear you on the Simpsons, I think that will be awesome! Lately you’ve been branching out into even more feilds and I absolutely love it! I was so proud of your acting on Hannah Montana. You did awesome, but I am beyond jealous of you for getting to sit next to Charles Shaughnessy. He is so hot!
Thats awesome you got to perform for the Country Hall of Fame. I saw videos of you there but not performing! Please put a video of you singing at it up, that would be so awesome to see you there. I love watching you perform, you create magic on stage =]
When I heard “Mama’s Song” I immediatelly could tell you wrote it without even looking, which is something I love about your songs. I really felt touched by that song, I could see where it was coming from when you wrote it. I think your mama knows Mike is a good man and would be proud of you. I am now dying to hear you sing it, I think it really would fit your voice!
And now thanks to you, I have become addicted to both “Replay” and “Whatcha Say” have been stuck in my head all week. Good job signing them! You seriously have the best ear for music I have ever seen, It amazes me to no end how everything that’s a hit has your name on it and your feel to it.
The songs you performed at the Somaly Mam dinner were phenominal. I guess I just can’t get enough of watching you perform all your songs. You always say you don’t want to release an album because you don’t want to be stuck always singing the same songs. Well If your won’t release your own, you should put a cd together of all the wonderful Demo songs you must have recorded over the years of your favorite songs you wrote. Or theres always those songs Lary Flick is always talking about from when your were first starting out. Even if you wont release them, we would LOVE to hear them =] Its always fun after all to listen for that one Kara DioGuardi Line that makes the song perfect!
Love ya and hope you have a great time with all the new opportunities you’ve had presented to you lately. Can’t wait to see what you do next!

Hi Kara, I love your Mama’s song. Personal songs are the best and I do believe it will be played at all the upcoming weddings. It’s a wedding song. I can even hear some of the riffs I’m sure you coached Carrie on. I hear your style in her voice and she did a great job. I hope we get to hear the songwriters round your speaking about. Also I do admire you for the causes you support. I think Somaly Mam is an angel and so lucky to have your support. All those young woman could be us!! We need to help them.
Keep on singing…Don’t stop singing… (It’s a song) Please!
