March Update!
Hi Everyone!
I recently returned from a life changing trip to Angola Africa with Elliott Yamin. Elliott and I went over to report on Exxon and American Idol’s joint effort…… Malaria No More. Close to one million lives have been saved by the bed nets that have been distributed; and awareness of the disease is at an all time high. Elliott and I were also able to visit an orphanage that had a second floor added on to its school; and is also in the process of building new dormitories to house the orphans. I was impressed by how focused and disciplined the students were. You could tell that learning was treated as a
privilege, and taken very seriously. While many of the people we
visited with lived in horrible conditions, they were happy to greet us, and made us feel very welcome. I look forward to showing you (on Idol gives Back) what we saw, and hope you will be moved to contribute and help save more lives.
We are now in the second week of live shows. I am excited about the many different genres that are represented this year, and can’t wait to see who improves this round. It’s early days, so our feedback is crucial to help these contestants over the course of the season.
This month i’m in the studio with: Rascal Flatts, Sara Evans, Iyaz, Neon Hitch, Demi Lovato, and all time low.

Hi there Miss K!!!
WoooHH!! That was a very great opportunity you had back there when you visited Angola… many lives were touched with that noble project and to be used as a channel of blessing is a humbling experience.
I look forward to seeing also the clip on American Idol.

Love your hairstyle, your “wardrobe”… your look.. as what you also say to the contestants… just keep doin’ what you’re doin’… you know what you want and your purpose why you’re there… ENJOY that!

Kara Baby! Why you cryin! I think you might have some kind of personal connection to that song. I never heard that song before and couldn’t understand the words either. I also found the whole performance to be awkward. A man like that dancing around the stage and singing such high notes made it odd to me. Anyway you guys are all “COOKING” now. Lillie is one heck of an artist and I can see that Album already with her look and sound at the final performance. She’s got a great tone and look and I just love it. Maybe not for Idol though. So keep up the good work! Thanks for finding the camera and looking right into it. There are millions looking back at those big beautiful brown eyes including me! Those eyes are in my family too! lol
Love it all,
Janet
PS I love your sincerity too. It’s written all over your face. (Sometimes… lol)

Hi Kara! I’m so exited I thought I would never be able to see you in person but I did get tickets to see you at the Borgata in Atlantic City. We do go there and they sent me an e-mail that you will be appearing. So I will see you in the first few seats in the 300’s on April 9th. I am very happy! Can’t wait to see you sing live in person. I just heard Mama’s son on you front page and it was awesome. You feel every word and note and I can see that. Very intense singing and it’s a wonder why you do not have an album but I would certainly buy it if you did. Anyway you are adorable and please make sure you make it over to the 300’s side of the stage. lol You might even feel some kisses blowing toward you. lol

OK, I don’t mean to complain but this season is turning out to be soooo kariyoke. There are some good singers who are failing to intepret the songs. Last night was awful, and despite the praises for some none were praiseworthy. I know you guys dug “Me and Bobbie MaGee, but honestly Crystal has probably been singing that song since she was 3 - she should do it competently. Janis Joplin is not relevant. I didn’t hear one single performer bring anything. I know why you guys had to be positive, to encourage the contestants to do better. I fear that they just don’t get it! The only moment that I saw was the little guy singing Aerosmith. He agve it something fresh and appealing, but yet it still comes off as lacking in creativity. Song choice, song choice, song choice…with all the #1 songs in the history of Billboard, you’d think they’d have done much better.
I like the emphasis on losing the props (guitars specifically). Yep, I’m happy they can play the instrument, but it can be a distraction and can make things too predictable. I think that going forward you should consider that while in the top 10 contestants can only use an instrument in performance up to 3 times. The rest of the time they should go without. It is a crutch (although I couldn’t imagine being on stage w/o my guitar).
Hears a thought for the future (if I didn’t mention it last time I posted)… do post Idol project with Crystal and Lilly. They might be good together…
Keep on having fun!

Hi Kara, I just want to say that last night I agreed with all of your comments and advice. I have to say when Simon is wrong…He is so wrong and wrong the whole night. All he can do is look at it from a business perspective. He has never sang or performed (Aside from his little comments). He is also no Clive Davis. His remarks are getting old. But keep it all up Kara, I think most are agreeing with you. Your comments are genuine and helpful from all areas of the business in my opinion. I’m just a wannabe but I do have some insight. I guess Ryan’s comment about Casey was out of place but I think he was just trying to be funny. I would have just shook my head right to left!
Karry on Kara! Stick to your views!

Kara I’m filling up your blog page! lol I saw you at the Borgata and that was me yelling “Sing it Kara”! Everyone around me was laughing and thanked me at the end of the show and said it was fun! The guy in front of me asked if I was your Aunt. ???? I’m only 10years older than you. Geeze. But anyway you belted out those songs like they were nothing. They were flawless and your voice is outstanding. I am not the only one to request an album from you. I know you said you want to promote the Idols but Kara… I don’t care! Maybe you can come out with something on Idol downtime or something. Like your collection of hits and covers. Hey if you want to take me around to your gigs it would only require a room and at least 3 glasses of wine before the show for me to yell out like that! It’s not a usual thing I do. lol But you sing with such emotion and I really do feel it. The comments just flew out of my mouth! Ok maybe I had 4 glasses but Kara! It was awesome! I Loved it all! I got so into the songs, I closed my eyes but then realized it was a live show and I should keep them open! lol
